DESDE LA EXPERIENCIA: CORRER EN PATIN NIÑOS CON TEA


Todos conocemos las ventajas del deporte, y muchos lo practicamos y disfrutamos. ¿Porque no entonces pensamos en los beneficios del deporte para niños con TEA?

El ejercicio es una parte fundamental para nuestro desarrollo, tanto en la infancia como en el resto de nuestra vida.

Es parte de nuestro ocio, de nuestra vida social, y de nuestra integración en la sociedad.

Participar en algún deporte y en actividades de ocio con un componente de ejercicio intenso es bueno para cualquier niño incluyendo aquellos que tienen un Trastorno del Espectro Autista. Sin embargo, ellos no suelen asociar el ejercicio intenso a una actividad beneficiosa sino que no le suelen encontrar sentido. Es ahí donde hay que incidir e insistir.

La actividad física, ese cansancio que parece que nos libera de tensiones, ansiedades, y preocupaciones, puede ayudar a sentirse mejor a un niño o niña con o sin autismo. Empecemos con poca intensidad y con algo que le guste.

Y sin olvidarnos de que ante todo los niños y niñas son eso, niños y niñas que necesitan jugar y divertirse.

Todos tenemos una habilidad especial, pasiones y gustos que hacen que desempeñemos ciertas actividades de una manera excepcional. Que tal los patines o el patinete, suelen ser ambos del gusto de los niños.

Muchas veces los padres se preguntan cuál es el mejor deporte para niños con TEA, y la respuesta a veces es más sencilla de lo que parece: hay que dejarse guiar por sus gustos y preferencias y por aquello que se le dé bien; hay que encontrar su actividad, y no la que le guste a los padres. 

Los beneficios se obtienen, en mayor o menor medida, en todos los deportes, y si le gusta tendrá más constancia y estará más feliz.

Partiendo de esta base, cualquier deporte es bienvenido, encontrando en la actualidad experiencias de personas con TEA que practican desde baloncesto, natación, atletismo, etc., hasta surf, artes marciales, e incluso paracaidismo.

La dificultad de correr los patines o el patinete en un niño o niña con TEA que tenga capacidad para ello, estriba más en el lugar donde hacerlo, donde practicarlo que la propia dificultad en si.

Después de probar diferentes sitios como canchas te futbol-baloncesto que tienen el suelo muy liso y esta cerrado (salvo la puerta claro) la mejor solución que he encontrado ha sido la de utilizar un parque amplio que tenga zonas asfaltadas o con azulejos suficientemente liso y donde se pueda controlar una distancia suficiente sin que pueda haber escapatorias.

Es complicado pero existen, le mejor solución encontrada para que no se aleje sin control o no perderlo de vista es la de ir con otro patinete, lo cual por tanto exige el practicar y tener otro patín para el adulto 0 cuidador que controla la situación.

Al final he decidido tener un patinete eléctrico para el acompañante que permite un control directo y muy efectivo pues el niño o niña va acompañado siempre.

Espero que pueda servir de estimulo para practicar los patines o patinete pues vale para ambos.
