Sólo tenemos que seguir estos simples consejos:
1. Ofrecer silencio.
Tratar de recibirlos en un horario tranquilo, fuera de hora o abriendo un día especial. Conseguir que la peluquería esté en silencio, para que los niños puedan tener un entorno sin estrés.
2. Moverse libre.
Dejar a los niños sentir que tienen libertad. Puedes elegir un peinado fácil y rápido para trabajar alrededor de ellos, sin forzarles a permanecer sentado, a lavarse el pelo o secárselo.
3. ¿Usar tijeras o maquinillas?
Enseñar el material que vas a usar y dejar unos minutos para que los niños se familiaricen. Puedes hacer un test para saber si es mejor utilizar tijeras o la maquinilla.
4. Anticipar.
Explicar a los niños que van a cortarse el pelo y decirles con qué persona. Anticipar los pasos que seguirán e indicárselos uno a uno. Puedes usar el cuento «José en la peluquería».
5. Personalizar.
Tener imaginación con cada niño. Cada niño es único y diferente. Cuando conoces a un niño con autismo, sólo has conocido a este niño con autismo. Para cada uno, puede ser una experiencia diferente.
