«Llevamos años en lista de espera para la residencia de mi hijo, es como una maldición, y lo peor es que no sabes si queda mucho, o queda poco, es una angustia terrible», se quejaba Silvia, madre de un hombre con discapacidad intelectual este jueves en la presentación del informe sobre la situación de este colectivo de la federación Dincat.
Como él, en Catalunya hay más de 80.000 personas con discapacidad intelectual: son un 28% más que hace cinco años, pero para atenderles es necesario redoblar esfuerzos.
De hecho, los niños menores de 6 años diagnosticados con discapacidad intelectual se han multiplicado por 10 en 20 años «Necesitamos proyectar, evolucionar y hacer cambios para corregir el déficit y dar respuestas a estas personas con más recursos», ha reclamado el director de la entidad, Víctor Galmés, que ha calificado las eternas listas de espera de este sector de «gran caja negra».
«La realidad del colectivo está muy alejada de los derechos que marca la normativa: sufrimos discriminación y desigualdad», ha añadido el presidente, José Carlos Eiriz.
